Assumptions behind this calculation

Nothing here is hidden. Change any assumption in the inputs panel and the projection updates immediately.

Expected annual return
8%
Assumed constant. In a withdrawal plan the order of returns matters as much as their average: a fall in the early years forces more units to be sold to fund the same withdrawal, and that damage is not undone by later recovery. A constant-rate projection cannot show this.
Withdrawal timing
End of each month
The balance earns the month's return first, then the withdrawal is taken — the convention used by fund house SWP calculators.
Annual increase in withdrawal
None
A level withdrawal buys less every year as prices rise. An annual increase keeps its purchasing power, and runs the corpus down faster.
Tax on withdrawals
Not deducted
Each withdrawal is a partial redemption of units and may be liable to capital gains tax, depending on the fund type and how long the units were held.
Costs
Not deducted
Expense ratio, exit load and stamp duty are not applied.
